Originally from Buffalo, New York, I graduated from Damien College with a BS Degree in Art Education. After graduation. I worked for a year with the National Red Cross,in Vietnam. After returning home, I moved to Annapolis and began my teaching career at Cape St. Claire Elementary. In addition to teaching, I attended George Washington University, and received my MA degree in Adult Continuing Education. I have also attended the University of Maryland and Anne Arundel Community College, taking over 15 classes in subjects of all sorts for fun. Besides teaching, I have a great interest in sports of all kinds, but especially rowing. In the summer I travel all over the Eastern part of the USA and Canada to race. I also travel to England and mainland Europe to participate in major regattas, including the World Championships. I enjoy teaching art very much. In fact, I would like to teach nothing else but art. To me it is great fun to create, draw, and paint things that are beautiful. I think my students are also wonderful artists. It often amazes me to see what a great talent students have. I also have a hobby which is writing, researching and photography. A am preparing to write a book about Wye Island, former home of William Paca, signer of the Declaration of Independence, who also lived in Annapolis. It is fun to look through old documents at the Maryland Hall of Records and find interesting facts on the history of Maryland. |
